The Top 12 Biggest Tennis Stadiums In The World By Capacity

If you’ve ever watched a Grand Slam final or a Davis Cup decider, you’ll know that tennis stadiums can turn into roaring coliseums. The biggest tennis arenas aren’t just venues for incredible matches – they’re stages for drama, noise, and history in the making. Ever wondered which tennis stadiums are the biggest? Well, here are the top 12 biggest tennis stadiums in the world by seating capacity in 2025.

12. Hard Rock Stadium, Miami (14,000)

Home of the Miami Dolphins NFL team based in Florida, the Hard Rock Stadium is transformed into a tennis venue to host the Miami Open every March. When it’s set up for tennis matches, it seats a total of 14,000 people making it one of the largest tennis stadiums in the world.

11. Louis Armstrong Stadium, New York (14,053)

Not many tennis centres have a court this big, let alone two. Louis Armstrong Stadium is only the second biggest tennis stadium at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, Queens (New York). With an impressive capacity of 14,053 people, it’s the biggest number 2 stadium at Grand Slam events.

10. Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne (14,820)

Not many stadiums look better than Rod Laver Arena on a beautiful summer sunset down under, though it’s more than just good looking. Since 1988 it’s been used as the main show court for the Australian Open and seats up to 14,820 tennis fans when it’s full.

9. Wimbledon Centre Court (14,979)

It may not be the biggest tennis stadium in the world, but no court is more famous. With a capacity of 14,979, Wimbledon Centre Court is probably the most prestigious stage in the world of tennis, often hosting hundreds of celebrity fans every year including some of the British Royal Family. There’s nothing quite like a stadium packed full of nearly fifteen thousand tennis fans sitting in utter silence, before erupting at the end of a championship point.

Fun fact: Wimbledon’s Centre Court is so big that it could technically hold around 290 million tennis balls with the roof closed!

8. Central Court, Optics Valley International Tennis Centre, China (15,000)

The Central Court at the Optics Valley International Tennis Centre in China can accommodate an impressive 15,000 fans when the venue hosts the WTA 1000 level Wuhan Open every year.

7. Diamond Court, National Tennis Stadium, Beijing (15,000)

The Diamond Court, nicknamed the National Tennis Stadium, has a capacity of 15,000. It was purpose built as part of the National Tennis Centre and open in October of 2007 prior to the Beijing 2008 Olympics. After the Olympics, the centre became home to the annual China Open, a combined WTA 1000 and ATP 500 event which has been hosted there since 2009. It boasts a total of 12 competition hard courts and 35 training courts, including 20 hard courts, 10 indoor hard courts, 2 artificial grass courts, 2 indoor clay courts, though none are more impressed than the Diamond Court.

6. Stade Roland Garros - Court Phillipe Chatrier (15,225)

Court Phillipe Chatrier, which will forever be Rafael Nadal’s backyard, is perhaps perhaps the most prestigious court when it comes to playing on the red clay. It sits at the centre of the Stade Roland Garros, the main show court stadium for the French Open. Despite not being the largest tennis stadium in France, it’s certainly one of the most impressive. After the completion of the retractable roof expansion in 2020, the stadium now seats a total of 15,225 fans.

5. Accor Arena, Paris (15,609)

While the Rolex Paris Masters may not be the biggest tennis event in Paris, it is hosted at the biggest tennis stadium in the French capital city. 2. Stadium 1, Indian Wells Tennis Garden (16,102)

1. Arthur Ashe Stadium, New York (23,771)

The biggest tennis stadium in the world is Arthur Ashe Stadium, home of course to the main show court at the US Open Championships based in Queens, New York. When packed out, it seats as many as 23,771 of the loudest tennis fans, making it by far the largest tennis venue on the planet. And if it wasn’t already big enough, the stadium is set to undergo an expansion that will increase the stadiums capacity by another 2,000 seats.
