Hi there! My name is Chris Czermak and I’m the founder of Tennis Creative. I’m a British tennis player based in Manchester, UK. For all intents and purposes, I’m just a regular tennis player and fan, like every one of you guys.
I was born and raised in Tenerife, Spain. My tennis journey began at the age of 6 when I picked up my first tennis racket. Since that moment, I can’t seem to be able to put my rackets down. A large portion of my childhood was spent on a tennis court, including tennis lessons during school lunch breaks, after school and on the occasional weekend. Fast forward a few years and I was ready to make my way to university.
In 2014, I enrolled in the University of Liverpool and was able to start a new chapter in my tennis life, this one taking part in the UK. I had the pleasure of playing lots of university tennis for the men’s 1st team and also had my first introduction to tennis coaching. I even had the honour of being president of the University of Liverpool Tennis Club in my final year in 2018.
After 4 amazing years at university, I eventually moved on to Manchester, where I’ve settled into a career in Digital Marketing. That being said, no matter how many obstacles were in the way, I’ve managed to continue playing tennis and even qualified as an LTA Level 1 Coaching Assistant in 2020.
Today, I spend as much time as I can on the tennis courts at my local club: Priory tennis Club in Stalybridge. It’s a beautiful and cosy four court club that’s been recognised as one of the best tennis clubs in Cheshire. I’ve made many friends at the club, both on and off the court, specially those on the men’s team. Together, we compete in Division 1 of the North East Cheshire Tennis League, playing highly competitive doubles tennis throughout the summer.
As far as coaching goes, I’ve been helping players on court for over 10 years now. I started coaching at the University of Liverpool, where a group of tennis club committee members and myself planned and delivered a coaching programme for over 250 students of all abilities, from complete beginners advanced team players.
Since then, I’ve taken up tennis coaching on a part-time basis helping players one of my local clubs (Saddleworth Tennis Club) to improve their skills on court. In particular, I’ve focused on teaching more advanced doubles tennis skills to intermediate and team players and I love every minute of it!
Over the last few years I’ve began to understand so much more about the game, most of which I had to learn for myself. For that very reason, I decided to launch the Tennis Creative blog in an effort to share this knowledge and make a tennis education available to as many people as possible.
